Informal Science Website Relaunches as a Comprehensive and Collaborative Resource
The redesign of Informal Science sets a new standard for sharing informal science education projects, evaluation, and research resources.

In collaboration with CAISE (The Center for Advancement of Informal Science Education) and the Lawrence Hall of Science at UC Berkeley, Ideum has compiled the resources of three previous websites into a single, comprehensive online destination for informal science education (ISE) professionals. The new Informal Science site is a community/networking tool, informative guide, project and research search engine, discussion forum, in-depth wiki and more.

The cornerstone of the new Informal Science site is the revised, integrated Informal Commons-powered search engine. Professionals can use this tool to search ISE projects, research papers, citations, and evaluation reports. In addition, users have the ability to sort and filter this content by a number of specialized facets to further refine their results. The data is also cross-referenced so that ISE professionals can locate additional records based on contextual keywords and metadata.

Registered members can also contribute new projects, research papers, citations and evaluation reports to the system ensuring that the Informal Science site will always have the most accurate and up-to-date information.
